Birdnests is a collection of short-stay residences located within the Witchcliffe Ecovillage, conceived as retreat-like homes closely connected to their landscape and community setting. The project sits within a highly regulated, self-sufficient environment, shaping both the architectural and interior design approach.
The interiors are defined by warmth and simplicity, with a restrained material palette and careful attention to light, texture, and proportion. Designed to support repeated occupation and long-term use, the spaces feel calm, tactile, and grounded, balancing environmental responsibility with comfort and ease.
